Overview

Elision Billing is a complete solution for any telecom company want to provide residential, business and wholesale voice over IP, calling card services, call-back and DID (telephone number) resale.

Elision Billing is a class 4 and/or class 5 softSWITCH developed for an intelligent billing mechanism with detailed logging of wholesale and individual VoIP services, calling cards and similar services. It can be used with other third party software and/or application to improve ROI of your VoIP business. The utilities of Elision Billing SoftSWITCH are listed below :

  • Termination and Origination
    Elision billing supports origination and termination using a variety of technologies such as VoIP, PSTN (PRI, BRI and analogue circuits) and GSM gateways.
  • Revenue Management
    Elision billing has a number of payment methods including online payment processors including PayPal, as well as manual payment and top-ups using vouchers via an IVR or the customer portal with full accounting and reporting.
  • Sales and Marketing
    Elision billing supports commission agents allowing online signup and affiliate marketing, as well automated signup via a simple telephone call providing easy customer acquisition.
  • Softswitch Architecture
    The architecture of Elision billing consists of a database server, Asterisk telephony server and a web server for administrator, agent, customer and online sign-up. Usually these servers are hosted on the same physical hardware but, can be distributed across multiple servers to increase the capacity. A SIP proxy Kamailio is added to load balance calls across multiple Asterisk servers and assist with NAT traversal.

VOIP Billing & Termination

There are three main customer types for Voice over IP billing & charging options in Elision Billing solution.

  • Residential VoIP
    Provides VoIP – Providing VoIP services, VoIP Billing and DID redirection to the general public. The endpoint is usually a PC-Dialler (or softphone) a physical VoIP phone or ATA.
  • Business VoIP
    Provides VoIP – Providing VoIP termination to IP-PBX systems for companies, bills the calls, as well as Provides invoices for VoIP services as well as supplies DID directed to the IP-PBX via VoIP or PSTN.
  • Wholesale VoIP
    Terminates and bills large numbers of calls from a customer who has a Softswitch or similar class 4 or class 5 switch.

Feature

All of the Elision Billing Systems have the following features.

  • Customer Management : This module allows add/delete prepaid/postpaid customer, auto refill, multi currency support, discounts & mass mail delivery with customer grouping
  • Support Protocol / Codecs /Trunks : It supports SIP/IAX protocol with flexible authentication methods like user/password & IP based on customer Caller ID manipulation. It also supports codecs like g729, ulaw, alaw, ilbc, GSM etc. It also supports Telco lines like Analog, PRI, BRI, and GSM with failover trunk.
  • Calling Card & Call-Back : This feature allows Pin/Caller ID authentication for callback system. It also provides flexible IVR, balance IVR, rate for the destination, and time available for destination with multi-language support.
  • Traffic Reporting : This feature provides detailed CDR of all incoming/outgoing calls with margin per call. It also provides reports as per trunk, profit/loss, daily/monthly traffic & calls by user & by destination.
  • Rating Engine : Rating engine provides a selection of rates based on LCR (Least Cost Routing) or LCD (Least Cost Dialing) by automatic selection of route across multiple carriers. It can also upload bulk rates & can test via rate simulator. Selection of rate-card can also be done via DNID or Caller-ID
  • Billing, Invoicing & Payments : It provides facilities like voucher based top-up. Also it provides multiple online payment methods like PayPal, pluginpay or moneybookers. Invoices will be generated on a monthly basis automatically.
  • Reseller Functionality : Agents are basically reseller on this system. It allows to provide commission to agents, assign different rates agent-wise, agents can control customer for add/delete, billing, CDR, sing-up & bulk creation. Also, it can purchase credit from admin for top-ups.
  • Customer Portal : Customer portal will provide password management, call/payment history, invoice/top-up payment via online, web based callback, Caller ID authentication, email notification on low balance and can download recorded conversation.
  • Online Sign-up : This feature will allow customers to sign up online by filling subscription details.
